Overall Race Analysis

Once you get to this level of racing there are no "slow paddlers". The differential between first and ninth place is 3.6%. This was great race. VanKOEVERDEN raced a very smart event and did masterfully control the race.

VanKOEVERDEN  Adam: second fastest first 250 meters followed by the fourth fasted second 250, a great race management.

BAGGALEY  Nathan: an extraordinary fast first 250 meters which was followed by the 7th slowest 250 meters with a 4.4 second difference split time. This was an all out race for the Aussie.

WYNNE  Ian: An almost even time split between the first and second 250 meters. A very controlled race in the first 250 and then brings on the fastest 250 split time in the second part of the race.

LARSEN Eirik  Veraas: Fifth at the first 250 demonstrates his K1-1000 meter gold medal status with the third fastest second 250 meters split and the third split differential.

VERECKEI  Akos: crosses in third place at the first split but can not close the race in the second 250.

ALTEPOST  Lutz: the only paddler to have a fastest second part of the race, good enough in the end to catch up three positions.

AMIR TAHMASSEB  Babak: a very controlled race with very little differential between first and second 250 meters allows him to catch up in the end.

CORREA  Javier: A fast fourth split time follows a very slow second 250.

ANDREA Facchin: there is no major drop in performance but a steady race.
